Advice for getting started
Faced with skepticism about my project's relevance, I learned early on the importance of making others see the value of addressing media stereotypes. This challenge, especially as a Black man in a predominantly white college, taught me to turn my unique perspective into a compelling argument for change. I realized that making others understand and care about my cause was a crucial skill, leading me to advocate more effectively for issues I believed in.

My path in life has been direct

I started with a passion for storytelling, specifically in anime, exploring the power of narratives to shape perspectives.

After experiencing the freedom of storytelling during a semester in Japan, I vowed never to lose that autonomy.

I received an Echoing Green Fellowship right before college graduation, which kickstarted my entrepreneurial journey.
4.
I founded Weird Enough Productions, using storytelling to address issues like media misrepresentation and social impact.
5.
I’ve since grown my organization to reach millions, pairing original content with educational curricula to improve student literacy and mental health.

How I responded:

I dealt with mental health issues as a child. I know how it feels to have a person who caress about you be in a leadership position and how it feels like to wish someone in leadership cared about you. That perspective drew me to the work I do today.
