How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Society in general:
You might take a job that seems promising but in fact, it is a 'dead-end'. "You should stay at the job for at least three years. Companies like loyalty." "If you want to land your dream job you have to show you can persist through the years."
How I responded:
This is not true. Companies want talent. They want team players. They want people who can provide solutions and high-quality work to their standards. If you find the job isn't going anywhere and it isn't challenging you, then consider looking for a better fit. If you want to grow in your skills and ability, and you want to be challenged, ask for special projects and prove your skills. Sometimes there is no room for growth in a position. If the job is too boring, don't be afraid to find another.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
Finding childcare for every school break and holiday is a part-time job! Very time-consuming.
