How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Society in general:
Education is not a field that you want to be in right now, it's difficult and they don't pay teachers enough.
How I responded:
One of the things that I had to remember along the way is that every profession starts with good teachers! Students are impacted daily by what happens in the classroom, both good and bad. As I got further in my teaching career, I realized that students need guidance to be college and career ready and that is where family and consumer sciences teachers and more broadly career and technical education teachers can help the most.
