My path in life took a while to figure out
1.
Graduated high school. May not seem like much, but after 3 high schools, it was a big achievement.
2.
Joined the Marine Corps. The discipline, skills, and relationships I gained are invaluable.
3.
Internships! Two years while supporting a family! Talk about tight money & time.
4.
Finally landed a job! But it was at a small company with their own issues.
5.
Landed a dream job! Finally started to feel the return of my hard work!
6.
Only the beginning, now working towards even bigger and better things.

How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Not so much discouragement, but people did not want to help me learn. It is the culture of the industry to force newcomers to learn on their own. Though invaluable, it is incredibly challenging.
How I responded:
Stick to it, look before asking questions, try harder. It pays off big time in your career.
