My path in life took a while to figure out
1.
As a child, I spent many Sunday afternoons outside with my dad, listening to baseball on the radio.
2.
When I got to ASU & thought about what I wanted to do, I realized I loved sports more than anything.
3.
After school, I worked a few jobs before deciding to get a master’s degree in sports administration.
4.
I joined the Dodgers organization as an intern and stayed there for 12 years.
5.
My years there taught me what it took to run a baseball organization from day to day.
6.
My goal was always to return to Arizona, so I jumped at the chance to work for the Diamondbacks.
7.
I do everything I can to improve the culture of the D-Backs organization and give back to our community.
Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Peers:
What makes you think you can run a baseball team? You’re crazy—you don’t know anybody, and you didn’t even play professional baseball.
How I responded:
Going all the way back to my college days, I would always tell people that someday I was going to work for the Dodgers. They thought I was crazy, but I was just always determined to make it happen. People will tell you to set reasonable goals, but I always say go the other way—shoot for the moon! Kick doors down. That’s the way I live my life every day.
