Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Myself:
Should I just go to business school or community college? Do I really have what it takes to go to college?
How I responded:
I didn't always apply myself when I was younger because I didn't always see the point. Once I started college it started to become clearer but it wasn't until I was in the classroom, serving on district committees, leading a PLC, leading a school, leading a district that I realized that I have the skills needed to go far. I have the power to inspire people to be the best version of themselves and I am passionate about it.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I didn't know how to study and there were no expectations for me to get certain grades growing up. If I didn't see the point of something, I didn't do it. It has helped me to work with students to find their motivation to be great.
