Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Myself:
I will never be able to afford college.
How I responded:
I knew in order to have the career I wanted I would need a college degree. To minimize the overall cost, I went to a public college and covered most of the cost with a combination of scholarships and student loans. I worked a variety of food service jobs through out college to cover my day to day expenses. I worked hard while at college to graduate in 4 years.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
To pay for college, I received some scholarship money and covered the rest with student loans. Held many jobs throughout college to cover my day to day expenses. Despite the large expense, I am glad I have a Bachelor's degree.
