Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Peers:
You will never find a job/company with opportunities like we have to offer.
How I responded:
I realized that life can be greener on the other side, I reflected on what I wanted and listened to what I already knew, that the job/company wasn't my passion and didn't define who I was or who I was going to be.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
My parents couldnt afford to send me to college, therefore I had to get financial aid as well as work throughout college which put me in debt after college. I had to learn quickly the importance of budgeting my money but also saving for the future.
I come from a family with a history of Alcohol Addiction which really impacted me on many levels. I developed trust issues due to this and until I learned to overcome and ask for help from others I stayed stagnant.
I didnt have a great role model to show me the way and yet there was tremendous pressure to be successful here. I learned quickly that I needed to do things not only for the sake of others but for myself.
