My path in life took a while to figure out
1.
I was interested in track and field where I was a captain of the track team.
2.
Then I went to college and majored in computer science because that was cool then.
3.
Then I got kicked out of school because it really didn't interest me and I got bad grades.
4.
Then I took an EMT course and became a EMT and worked for an ambulance.
5.
Wanted to know more about medicine and make more money.
6.
Then I thought about being a paramedic or physician.
7.
Realized I wanted to help people. Wanted to combine medicine with sports.
8.
Then I figured out physical therapy is best of both worlds!

How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Parents:
You should stay home and help the family business (we owned a bakery.) They also told me to be a doctor, but I didn't want to go to school for another 8 years.
How I responded:
Take what they say into consideration, but also listen to your heart. Think if you can really do that one thing "for the rest of your life." Or can you possibly explore both roads at the same time? IE: go to school and help out at home? Or go to school but continue to learn about other things that interest you and see where you could go? I learned that if you really love something, you have to take the jump for it.
