Day In The Life Of A Programs Director

My Day to Day

My days are a blend of management, teaching, and hands-on work. I oversee our diverse programs and workshops, steward the land, and handle public relations. Teaching is a big part of my role, from introductory tours to long-term apprenticeship programs. I guide participants in building structures like emergency shelters and elaborate designs using Super Adobe techniques. Every day, I cherish the blend of creativity, education, and collaboration.

Advice for getting started

There were people in my life that doubted my career path, telling me that I'd be better off with a typical nine-to-five office job. However, I knew I wouldn't be happy in a career like that. I wanted to be outside and work with my hands. Despite skepticism from friends and family, I built a fulfilling and sustainable career, proving that passion and perseverance can lead to success. And I've found more than just stability—I've also found peace of mind.
