Day In The Life Of A Special Representative For A Carpenters Trade Union

My Day to Day

I'm out of the house and on the road by 4:30 a.m. I spend my days answering calls and emails in order to get out in front of projects. It's my goal to organize and create work opportunities for the membership by connecting with others, like elected officials, for example.

Life & Career Milestones

My path in life has been direct

    I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California.

  • 2.

    I made some mistakes when I was younger and ended up being incarcerated for about six years.

  • 3.

    After getting out, I went to the parole office and saw a flier for an introduction to construction program.

  • 4.

    I decided to try the program out and turn my life around.

  • 5.

    I built my career in the construction industry and eventually worked my way up to a foreman position.

  • 6.

    I now serve as a special representative for the Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters, where I work to create work opportunities for the membership.
