My path in life took a while to figure out
1.
After high school, I ventured into early childhood education, earning an associate degree in child development.
2.
I built my career working at Head Start programs and child development centers.
3.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in marriage and family studies, strengthening my knowledge and experience in the whole family unit.
4.
After about 25 years working for child development programs, I decided I wanted a change of pace and applied for a drug and alcohol counselor position.
5.
I was hired and then proceeded to complete all the classes and training necessary for the position—I loved all of it and knew I had made the right decision.
6.
I’ve been working as a substance abuse counselor for about a decade now!
