Life & Career Milestones
My path in life took a while to figure out
1.
My journey began with challenges in high school, where I struggled academically and felt disconnected from my studies.
2.
After high school, I joined the Air Force where I began to discover my potential and desire for more in life.
3.
I enrolled in community college, earning four associate degrees that became critical stepping stones in my educational journey.
4.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology, followed by a master’s degree in social determinants of health and health disparities.
5.
I pursued further studies, earning my medical degree, and then became a clinical assistant professor at Stanford University.
6.
In this role, I discovered my passion for equity and justice, leading me to engage in racial and social justice work, both in my career and personal life.
7.
Today, I focus on aligning my daily practices with my sense of purpose, continuously reflecting on how I can serve both myself and others.

I faced challenges in high school and didn't do well academically. I felt disconnected and ashamed. Joining the military helped me discover my potential and desire more for myself.
